Mexican authorities seize massive methamphetamine shipments

Federal prosecutors in Mexico announced the seizure of approximately 12 kilograms of a methamphetamine-like substance and more than two kilograms of dried marijuana hidden inside five packages transported by a courier company on Federal Highway 57 near Matehuala. The packages, found in a van registered in the state of Michoacán, were opened by the Federal Ministerial Police with assistance from the National Defense Secretariat and the National Guard.

In a separate operation in Tijuana, Baja California, three individuals were arrested after police discovered 356 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in dozens of plastic bags on La Encantada street. The haul, confirmed by forensic chemists, led to charges of drug possession with intent to sell.

Both busts illustrate ongoing efforts by Mexican law‑enforcement agencies to disrupt large‑scale narcotics trafficking networks.
