Mexican Cities Open New Park in Chihuahua and Deliver Mobility Aids in Hidalgo

Mayor Marco Bonilla of Chihuahua inaugurated a new park in the Molino de Agua neighbourhood on July 7, 2026. The project, funded through the 2026 Participatory Budget after receiving 1,853 community votes, transformed an unused lot into a multi‑use space with a concrete court, lighting, benches, exercise equipment and a walking path, serving roughly 500 nearby residents.

In Ciudad Hidalgo, municipal president Jeovana Alcántar led the fifth delivery of mobility devices on July 8, 2026, handing out 35 items—including 10 wheelchairs, a power‑assist chair, 8 walkers, 12 canes and 2 pairs of crutches—to families across the town and surrounding villages. The distribution is part of a broader municipal program that has provided over 700 assistive devices since the administration began, aiming to improve mobility, safety and social inclusion for people with motor disabilities.
