Mexican commerce expects boost during Fiestas Patrias

Mexican commerce expects a significant boost during the Fiestas Patrias celebrations from September 13 to 16. Nationally, Concanaco Servytur projects an economic impact of approximately 39.6 billion pesos, representing a 5.5 percent increase compared to 2025. This growth is expected to benefit roughly 4 million economic units across the country, including supermarkets, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

In the state of Morelos, local businesses and service providers anticipate sales increases of up to 35 percent. Approximately 22,000 economic units in the region are expected to benefit from increased demand for traditional foods and tourism services.

In Chihuahua, the local economic impact is estimated at 50 million pesos. However, Alejandro Lazzarotto Rodríguez, president of Canaco Servytur, noted that while this figure is higher than the 40 million pesos recorded last year, inflation may offset real profit gains. He highlighted that rising costs for supplies are forcing small and medium-sized enterprises to reduce profit margins to remain viable.
