Mexican communities celebrate traditions with apple-themed festivities

Various communities in Mexico held traditional celebrations involving apples. In Cuautla, Morelos, the Catholic community observed the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. As part of the religious tradition, faithful participants offered apples that were blessed and distributed among attendees, a custom linked to oral traditions regarding the scent of the Virgin Mary's tomb.

In Zacatlán, Puebla, the 84th Grand Apple Fair featured a large parade attended by over 30,000 people. The event included more than 40 floats, musical bands, and the distribution of tons of apples to the crowd, known as ‘manzanazos’. The parade celebrated the town's status as a ‘Pueblo Mágico’ and drew visitors from several Mexican states.
