Apple-themed community celebrations in Mexico

Overview

Various Mexican communities held celebrations involving apples. In Cuautla, Morelos, the Catholic community observed the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, where participants offered blessed apples as part of a religious tradition.

In Zacatlán, Puebla, the 84th Gran Feria de la Manzana (Great Apple Fair) drew over 30,000 people for a parade featuring more than 40 allegorical floats and musical bands. The event included the ‘manzanazos’ tradition, where tons of apples are distributed to the crowd.

In the association category, SICOM won first place with a float titled ‘Huerto de la vida,’ while Finca La Concordia Inclusiva earned second place for its focus on forest elements and sustainable harvesting traditions.
