Mexican Congress calls for audit of Nuevo León federal funds
The Mexican Congress has approved an exhortation for the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) to conduct a comprehensive audit of federal resources transferred to and used by the Government of Nuevo León. The proposal, submitted by Deputy Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar, specifically targets service contracts and public works projects funded by federal funds during the administration of Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda.
The audit aims to investigate potential irregularities, including unjustified contract awards, cost overruns, unrendered services, incomplete works, and conflicts of interest. Additionally, the document addresses allegations regarding the triangulation of funds through provider companies and entities linked to individuals close to the governor, including a firm reportedly connected to the governor and his family that allegedly allocated over 81 million pesos to social media communication campaigns.
