Mexican Crematorium Owner José Luis A. C. Secures Provisional Amparo Blocking Re‑Arrest and Interpol Red Notice

A federal judge of the Sixth District Court in Chihuahua granted a provisional suspension (amparo) to José Luis A. C., the owner of Crematorio Plenitud. The measure temporarily halts a possible re‑arrest order and the issuance of a Red Notice by Interpol, but does not determine his criminal liability.

The owner faces charges of concealing and illegally retaining 386 corpses meant for incineration. He was declared a fugitive after failing to appear at a hearing in May, following a February amparo that had freed him and a May revocation that reactivated the case. The state prosecutor is pursuing the Interpol notice, while the defense filed an administrative complaint against actions of the higher appellate court.

The provisional amparo is intended to preserve the status of the pending legal proceedings while the substantive merits are examined.
