Mexican Deputy Daylín García and Argentine Senate approve new addiction prevention measures

In Baja California, Mexico, Deputy Daylín García Ruvalcaba introduced a reform to the state Youth Law to strengthen prevention, early detection and institutional support for young people at risk of problem gambling and digital betting. The proposal calls for state and municipal authorities to launch informational campaigns, workshops, digital materials, training for public servants, alert signals and family guidance, aiming to protect mental health, family finances and overall development.

In Argentina's San Luis Province, the Senate unanimously passed a law establishing an annual Provincial Week of Prevention, Awareness and Sensitization on Addictions and Problematic Consumption, to be held Aug 25‑31. Sponsored by Deputy Miriam Serra and supported by Senator Diego García, the week will feature the color blue, public‑building illumination, school activities, and a final day to recognize civil‑society groups and a new de‑addiction center in La Toma.
