Mexican federal police seize over 200 liters and 10 kilos of methamphetamine in parcel raids across Jalisco and Sonora

On 16 June 2026 federal agents in Guadalajara, Jalisco, opened a private shipment after a judicial order and, with the help of a narcotics‑detection dog, uncovered more than 10 kg of methamphetamine hidden inside five handcrafted crystal spheres inside a wooden crate.

The next day, 17 June 2026, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office seized 200 liters of methamphetamine concealed in 40 drums in Hermosillo, Sonora. The shipment was traced to Culiacán, Sinaloa, and had been sent through a commercial parcel service. Both operations stemmed from anonymous tips, were conducted by the Specialized Regional Control Office and the Federal Police, and resulted in the opening of investigation files; no arrests have been announced.

Authorities say the use of parcel services to move large volumes of synthetic drugs is a recurring tactic of criminal networks in north‑western Mexico.
