Mexican Municipal DIF Programs Expand Activities for Seniors in Puebla and Querétaro
In Ocoyucan, Puebla, municipal president Aristóteles Campos Flores announced that the local Sistema DIF is running gerontological groups for older adults. The groups provide physical‑activity classes such as dance, painting and embroidery workshops, as well as physiotherapy services, aiming to improve seniors’ quality of life. Resident Eugenia Mones praised the initiative, noting the social interaction and well‑being benefits.
Separately, the DIF in Corregidora (Querétaro) is inviting citizens aged 60 and over to join the Centre for Integral Development for the Elderly (CDIAM). The centre offers a wide range of activities—including yoga, tai chi, ballroom dancing, Zumba Gold, art classes and music lessons—and specialized services such as psychology, physiotherapy, dental care, podology and alternative medicine. The goal is to promote active, healthy and independent aging. The centre is located on Hidalgo Street in El Pueblito, with contact numbers provided for interested participants.
