Mexican municipalities boost disability assistance with thousands of new services

The municipal government of Huixquilucan, through its Center of Rehabilitation and Social Integration (CRIS) in the Rosa Mística Complex, delivered 13,459 health services between April and June. The effort reached 3,760 patients and included 7,818 physical therapies, 603 specialty medical consultations, 768 psychology sessions, 1,219 occupational therapies, 2,890 speech therapies, 105 early‑stimulation services, and 56 disability certificates.

In the state of Tlaxcala, the Administration of Public Charity Assets (APBPET) reports that more than 24,000 functional support items have been provided since 2021. In July 2026 it supplied 170 partial dental prostheses and, from March to June, 70 total dental prostheses, with a target of 120. Ongoing programmes also distribute lenses, hearing‑aid devices, breast prostheses and mobility aids such as wheelchairs for people with cerebral palsy, aiming to improve health, mobility and quality of life.
