Mexican municipalities implement new wildlife and biodiversity protections

Local governments in Mexico are implementing new measures to enhance environmental protection and wildlife management. In Bahía de Banderas, municipal authorities, in coordination with the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) and various civil organizations, conducted specialized training for personnel and the 'Patrulla Verde' (Green Patrol). This initiative focuses on the responsible handling and control of wildlife in inhabited areas to ensure both public safety and animal welfare.

In the municipality of Corregidora, Querétaro, the 'Sello Biodiversidad' (Biodiversity Seal) was unveiled. This recognition aims to promote the protection of natural resources—including water, soil, and pollinators—within urban spaces such as gardens, companies, and public buildings. Officials emphasized that economic development and environmental conservation are complementary goals within the state's integral environmental policy.
