Mexican municipalities launch infrastructure upgrades in Mexicali and Sonora

The State Commission of Public Services in Mexicali will continue rehabilitation of a sanitary drainage well at the intersection of Venecia and Quintana Roo, addressing structural damage. The four‑week project involves demolition, excavation, and the construction of reinforced concrete walls, slabs, and a new chimney to restore safe operation of the sewer network for thousands of residents.

In Sonora, the municipal council of Cajeme approved the 2023‑2040 Urban Development Program, outlining land‑use guidelines and enabling federal funding for infrastructure. The council also authorized the transfer of a 1.68‑hectare parcel north of the IMSS General Hospital to expand internal road access, improving mobility for patients, staff, and visitors.

Both initiatives are part of broader efforts by local authorities to modernize public services and enhance community wellbeing.
