Mexican towns restore water service to 150,000 residents after well rehabilitation

The municipal government of Cuautitlán Izcalli announced that the water operator Operagua rehabilitated seven wells, adding approximately 15.5 million litres of water per day and securing supply for about 150,000 inhabitants. The work included cleaning, piston testing, pump replacement and capacity upgrades despite prior financial liabilities inherited from the previous administration.

In the community of San Rafael, La Cruz municipality restored potable water after more than six weeks of outage. Officials desilted the local well, reaching a depth of 50 metres, and installed household water meters supplied by the Central Water and Sanitation Board. Ongoing efforts focus on repairing pipe leaks and improving network pressure to ensure reliable service.
