Mexican peso steadies around 17.22 per US dollar

The Mexican peso continued to show strength against the US dollar in mid‑June 2026, trading near 17.22 pesos per dollar on both June 13 and June 14. Official data from Banco de México indicated the interbank rate held within a narrow band of 17.22‑17.48 pesos, reflecting a recovery for the local currency.

Banks and exchange houses in Cancun listed a selling price of about 16.30 pesos and a buying price of 17.94 pesos per dollar, while the euro was quoted around 21.99 pesos for sale and 18.95 pesos for purchase. Analysts linked the peso’s resilience to expectations of U.S. monetary‑policy moves and continued investor interest in emerging markets. The stable rate benefits importers and consumers who pay in dollars, though it poses challenges for exporters receiving revenue in the foreign currency.
