Mexican peso steadies above 17 per dollar amid dollar weakness in early July 2026

The Mexican peso modestly appreciated against the U.S. dollar in early July 2026, trading around 17.47–17.48 pesos per dollar. The rise follows a broader weakening of the dollar in international markets, which also supported gains in the Mexican stock market.

Banco de México’s official FIX rate for the weekend and the following Monday was posted at approximately 17.48 pesos per dollar. Commercial banks offered slightly different buying and selling prices, typically ranging from about 16.05 to 18.20 pesos depending on the institution and location. Analysts noted that while the peso showed a short‑term recovery, market participants remain cautious amid pending monetary‑policy decisions by the Bank of Mexico and the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Daily reports released on July 9, 10, 11, and 13 listed the same narrow trading band, indicating a relatively stable exchange‑rate environment despite global currency fluctuations.
