Mexico hosts diverse cultural, artistic, and youth engagement initiatives

Various cultural and community initiatives are being launched across Mexico. In Mexico City, the Veracruz Secretariat of Culture and the National Institute of Anthropology and History are hosting a stand at the 37th International Anthropology and History Book Fair (FILAH) at the National Museum of Anthropology. The exhibit features artisanal products from 18 municipalities in Veracruz, including food, jewelry, and cosmetics, aimed at promoting fair trade without intermediaries.

In the realm of visual arts, the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles is presenting ‘Instante/revelación: Moments in Mexican Photography’, an exhibition featuring thirteen Mexican photographers spanning nearly a century of social and artistic transformation. Meanwhile, the Photography Archive Museum (MAF) in Mexico City continues to preserve a century of visual memory while embracing emerging photographers and new technologies like artificial intelligence.

Local governance and youth engagement are also highlighted. The Veracruz City Council has inaugurated its 2026 Youth Council, allowing young people to propose improvements in public spaces, health, and security. In Arteaga, Coahuila, the municipal government has opened applications for the 2026 Youth Award to recognize local talent. Additionally, the MEXTRÓPOLI 2026 architecture festival is set to take place in Mexico City this September, focusing on urban movements and public space.
