Mexican police arrest dozens in drug‑related and family‑violence operations

State police in the eastern zone of the State of Mexico captured five men in Chimalhuacán after observing them exchange small plastic bags that contained a crystal‑like substance. The officers seized 15 resealable bags, a blue motorcycle and a grey compact vehicle. Authorities said the suspects could be linked to a homicide that occurred in the municipality in May.

Municipal police in the capital city detained another five men on separate family‑violence charges. Arrests were made in the neighborhoods of Cerradas del Sur, Manuel Valdez, Leyes de Reforma, Revolución Mexicana and the city’s central district after victims reported physical and verbal assaults, threats with knives or machetes, and attacks carried out while the suspects were intoxicated. All ten detainees were transferred to the public prosecutor’s office for further legal proceedings.
