Mexican police detain suspects in drug busts across Veracruz towns
In Las Choapas, Veracruz, municipal police pursued a black Chevrolet, stopped the vehicle and detained a man after he became aggressive toward officers. During a preventive inspection they secured 15 zip‑lock bags of a crystalline substance identified as similar to crystal meth. The suspect was taken to the municipal command and placed under the jurisdiction of the public prosecutor.
In Mineral de la Reforma, also in Veracruz, state security officials carried out several operations after citizen reports of drug‑selling points. Eight people were arrested: six for narco‑menudeo and two for qualified robbery and threats. Police seized nine doses of marijuana, 15 doses of synthetic crystal, an additional 22 crystal doses and numerous small marijuana bags. All detainees were handed over to the public prosecutor for further legal proceedings.
