Mexican political parties PAN and PAZ organize leadership structures

Political parties in Mexico are undergoing leadership selection processes. In Baja California Sur, the PAN is finalizing the selection of its State Coordinator in Defense of the Homeland, Family, and Liberty for the 2027 cycle. Six candidates have registered: Eric Arias Solorio, Rosa Adela Baltazar Gaytán, Esteban Cuitláhuac Hernández Cruz, Bryan de Jesús Melo Lomelí, José Ulices Victorio Espinoza, and Francisco Pelayo Covarrubias. Candidates must gather support signatures by August 23, followed by a survey between August 23 and 26. The final selection will be announced by national leader Jorge Romero on August 27.

Meanwhile, the PAZ party has postponed its National Congress to August 22 in Mexico City. The party currently lacks national, state, and municipal leadership. The upcoming congress aims to establish its formal structure, including state presidency and secretaries, to prepare for elections in Tamaulipas. The party intends to field candidates for all 22 local districts, 8 federal districts, and 43 municipal presidencies.
