Mexican political parties to allocate 236 million pesos for women's leadership

Mexico's eight national political parties are required to allocate a combined total of 236,379,950 pesos toward strengthening women's political leadership in 2027. This amount represents 3% of their ordinary federal public financing.

The funds must be directed toward programs focused on the training, promotion, and development of women's participation in political life. This mandate applies to all national political institutes, including recently registered groups such as the Partido Paz y Somos México, with each party contributing a proportional amount based on its financing.

The General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE), supported by the Commission of Prerogatives and Political Parties, will be responsible for auditing the use of these funds to ensure compliance with the law and to promote substantive equality and political representation.
