Mexican public institutions report high volumes of legal and human rights services

The Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (CODHEM) is providing free legal guidance and orientation to help citizens understand their rights and how to exercise them. The service does not require legal expertise or specific legal terminology from the user; individuals can explain their situations in their own words to receive support, identification of authorities, and potential referrals.

In Yucatán, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) reported attending to 35,528 people during the month of August. These services were provided across various specialized units in Mérida and throughout the state, including offices for crimes against children and adolescents, the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), and peripheral agencies. The reported activities included filing complaints, following up on legal matters, and receiving specialized services.
