Mexican security forces seize arsenals in Tamaulipas and Nuevo León
Mexican security forces have conducted separate operations in northern Mexico, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of weaponry and tactical gear.
In Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas, the Mexican Army seized two long guns, seven magazines, 198 cartridges, and two tactical vests. The Gabinete de Seguridad reported that the items were recovered during security actions in the border municipality, though no arrests were reported and the specific location was not disclosed.
In Melchor Ocampo, Nuevo León, a joint operation involving Fuerza Civil and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) under ‘Operativo Muralla’ led to the discovery of a larger arsenal. Authorities recovered two Browning machine guns, six long guns, and various incomplete weapon parts. The seizure included 813 .50 caliber cartridges, 27 7.62 x 51 mm cartridges, and 495 7.62 x 39 mm cartridges.
Additionally, security forces in Nuevo León seized tactical equipment, including seven chest rigs and two tactical vests, along with two vehicles: a Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition and a Yukon Denali equipped with armor.
