Mexican states implement gender equality initiatives

Governmental entities in Mexico are implementing new measures to promote gender equality and inclusive practices within public administration.

In Puebla, the Secretariat of Women is continuing its workshops on inclusive and non-sexist language. The program aims to strengthen egalitarian communication and eliminate discriminatory expressions in public service. During 2025, the workshops reached 2,034 participants across 24 micro-regions. The state plans to expand this coverage to all 27 micro-regions by 2026, targeting public servants and municipal government members to help identify and transform practices that reproduce stereotypes.

In Tamaulipas, the Superior Auditor's Office (ASE) has established a new Gender Equality Unit in Ciudad Victoria. This addition brings the total number of such units within the state's public administration to 54. The unit is designed to incorporate a gender perspective into the auditing body and promote equality among its staff, focusing on identifying long-standing procedures that may generate unequal conditions.
