Mexican Stock Market Gains 0.6% as Weekly Loss Extends to Four Weeks

The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) rose 0.59% on Friday, yet the main index, the Índice de Precios y Cotizaciones (IPC), recorded a 0.84% decline for the week, marking the fourth consecutive week of losses and leaving the index at 66,496.1 points. Analysts Gabriela Siller of Banco Base and Enrique Covarrubias of Grupo Financiero Actinver noted the mixed global backdrop and the ongoing weekly dip.

Key movers included Volaris (‑8.81%), two southeastern and Pacific airport groups (‑6.15% and ‑5.70%), Arca Continental (‑4.17%) and Quálitas (‑3.54%) on the downside, while Proteak Uno (+6.8%), Nutrisa (+4.52%) and Gentera (+3.29%) led gains. The Mexican peso appreciated 0.4% to 17.48 per US dollar. Trading volume reached 152 million shares, valued at 18.334 billion pesos (≈ 1.048 billion USD). Of the 564 listed companies, 257 closed higher, 290 lower and 17 unchanged.
