Mexican Stock Market Slides 0.74% as IPC Index Extends Decline

The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) fell 0.74% on Monday, closing at 65,650.23 points, marking its seventh loss in the last eight sessions and a four‑day streak of declines. The IPC index hit its lowest level since March 23.

Key losers included Gentera (‑4.42%), Cemex (‑3.03%), Chedraui (‑2.28%), Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (‑1.83%) and Liverpool (‑1.71%). Gains were led by miner Frisco (+7.75%), chemical distributor Alpek (+3.6%) and food producer Grupo Minsa (+2%).

Trading volume reached 203 million shares, valued at 16.163 billion pesos (about $925.7 million). The Mexican peso appreciated 0.11% against the dollar, trading at 17.46 per US dollar.
