Mexican towns boost women‑focused entrepreneurship programs

In Guadalupe, the municipal government and the state partnered to launch a self‑employment project for 200 local women. The initiative, overseen by municipal development secretary Araceli W. Ching and state economy secretary Betsabé Rocha, will grant each approved business plan a cash support of 150,000 pesos and provide assistance in sales, marketing, brand registration and administrative procedures.

In the city of Centro, mayor Yolanda Osuna Huerta celebrated a free workshop that trained more than 170 entrepreneurs—both men and women, including participants with disabilities—on basic product photography using smartphones. The session was part of the Emprendedores+ segment of the broader Emprendedores al Centro program, which aims to improve commercial presentation, branding and sales skills for local businesses.
