Mexican towns seek solutions to prolonged water shortages

Mayor Leo Montañez of Aguascalientes visited the Villas de Don Antonio neighborhood to hear residents’ demands for increased security patrols and urgent improvements to the local potable‑water supply. He said the municipality would forward the requests to the appropriate departments for follow‑up.

In the Arboledas San Miguel subdivision of Medellín de Bravo, residents have been without tap water for up to 20 consecutive days after a pump component failed. Families rely on water delivered by municipal tank trucks and limited well supplies, and they have called for the area’s municipalization and a permanent fix to the recurring water‑service disruptions.
