Mexicana adds new AIFA‑Hermosillo flight, backed by Governor Durazo and President Sheinbaum
Mexicana airline announced the launch of a new route linking the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) with Hermosillo, Sonora. The flight will operate six days a week—Monday through Friday and Sunday—with departures from AIFA at 08:00 arriving in Hermosillo at 09:45, and a return from Hermosillo at 10:25 arriving back at AIFA at 13:50.
The service was promoted by Governor Alfonso Durazo during the Tianguis Turístico México 2026 in Acapulco, where a letter of intent with Mexicana officials was signed. Governor Durazo emphasized that the route will offer “boletos más económicos” (cheaper tickets) and is intended to boost tourism, investment and overall economic competitiveness in Sonora, aligning with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s strategy to strengthen the state‑owned airline.
