Mexicana de Aviación launches 35‑minute AIFA‑Bajío flight
Mexicana de Aviación inaugurated a new route linking the Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) with the Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajío on 27 July. The first flight carried 93 passengers and the service will operate six times a week, offering a 35‑minute travel time between the two airports. Ticket prices start at about 1,500 pesos for a one‑way trip and can rise to 3,000 pesos for a round‑trip.
The airline will use Embraer 190 and 195 aircraft, seating 108‑132 passengers, and expects an initial load factor of roughly 65 percent with a three‑month consolidation period. Director General Leobardo Ávila Bojórquez highlighted the route’s role in strengthening regional tourism, commerce and accessibility, adding that the new connection joins the Bajío airport’s existing network of 24 routes – 12 domestic and 12 international – and will support further economic integration across Mexico.
