Mexicana de Aviación launches new AIFA routes to Hermosillo and Chiapas

Mexicana de Aviación will begin operations on a new route linking Hermosillo in Sonora with the Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA) on 20 July. The service will run six times a week, Monday‑Friday and Sunday, and is promoted as a cheaper option that will enhance tourism, business travel and economic ties between Sonora and the capital. Governor Alfonso Durazo and Economy and Tourism Secretary Roberto Gradillas highlighted the expected boost to mobility and visitor numbers.

A second new Mexicana route from AIFA to the Ángel Albino Corzo International Airport in Chiapas started on Monday. It will operate five weekly flights – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday – and is intended to expand tourism, attract investment and facilitate commercial exchange for Chiapas. Officials from the state tourism secretariat, Mexicana's management and the Chiapas airport attended the launch ceremony.
