Mexicana launches Guanajuato‑AIFA flights as AICM offers taxi discounts

Mexicana, the state‑owned airline, will begin direct flights between the Guanajuato International Airport (AIG) and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) on 3 October. The service will operate six days a week with a Boeing 737 Max carrying 189 passengers, as announced by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo. The new route adds to existing daily services by other carriers and follows recent expansions such as a Bajío‑Madrid link by Air Europa and a Bajío‑Vancouver connection planned for 2026.

The Mexico City International Airport (AICM) has introduced discounts of up to 18 % on authorized taxis for its travelers. The measure, part of an agreement by Grupo Aeroportuario Marina, aims to lower transportation costs and improve service competitiveness. Alongside the fare reduction, the airport is upgrading its multimodal parking area, adding a new taxi bay and administrative offices for authorized operators.
