Mexico tourism chief pushes Tulum Renace plan at Parque del Jaguar

Mexico's Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, conducted a work tour of the Parque del Jaguar in Tulum to review progress on the Plan Tulum Renace. She met with officials from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP) and the Grupo Mundo Maya, emphasizing inter‑institutional coordination.

The visit highlighted new measures: free entry for Mexican visitors, a reduced fee of 80 pesos for national access to the archaeological zone (free on Sundays), and a charge of 265 pesos for foreign tourists. A professionalization and training session was held for park staff, focusing on hospitality, service quality, digital tools and inclusive tourism.

Separately, state agencies AGEPRO, SEDETUS, the Bacalar municipality and the Ejido of Bacalar met to strengthen territorial ordering, legal certainty and sustainable development in line with Governor Mara Lezama's agenda, reinforcing the broader objectives of the Tulum Renace initiative.
