Mexico advances women's economic leadership and export capabilities

Efforts to increase women's economic participation in Mexico are expanding through both regional leadership initiatives and national export programs. In Querétaro, the Consejo Coordinador de Mujeres Empresarias (CCME) has broadened its strategy to support women across the entire professional spectrum. Beyond supporting entrepreneurs, the CCME launched ‘THE FIFTEEN Premio Mujer Líder Corporativa’ in collaboration with the Querétaro State Labor Secretariat to recognize and empower women in high-level executive and strategic roles within large corporations and industrial sectors.

Nationally, the Secretariat of Economy is promoting international market access for women-led micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through the ‘Mujer Exporta MX’ program. The seventh edition of this initiative focused on the agro-industry and manufacturing sectors, facilitating business connections with buyers from the United States, Canada, and Germany. The program includes specialized training and B2B business matchmaking to integrate Mexican women-led businesses into global value chains. Previous editions of the program have facilitated significant commercial expectations, totaling over 8.5 million dollars in cumulative business opportunities.
