Mexico AI Forum Highlights Human Talent While AMD CEO Calls for Caution

At IAB Conecta 2026 in Mexico City, more than 2,000 marketing, advertising and tech professionals gathered to discuss placing human talent and creativity at the core of artificial‑intelligence transformation. Speakers from Google, Nestlé, BBVA, General Motors, Walmart Connect, Netflix Ads, Mercado Ads, TelevisaUnivision and Microsoft Advertising stressed that AI should amplify, not replace, human judgment, and called for robust governance and measurement of incremental impact. The event positioned Mexico as a laboratory for AI‑driven mobility, delivery and retail‑media innovations.

Separately, AMD chief executive Lisa Su cautioned that AI systems cannot decide which problems deserve solving and that ultimate responsibility remains with people. While affirming AI’s importance, she highlighted AMD’s upcoming supply of roughly 6 gigawatts of compute power to OpenAI and Meta, a partnership valued at around $100 billion, underscoring a pragmatic, human‑centric approach to the technology’s deployment.
