Mexico and Argentina release official school calendars for upcoming academic years
Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) detailed the process for setting the national school calendar, emphasizing compliance with the federal Education Law’s requirement of 185‑200 instructional days, coordination of technical days for teachers, and allowances for regional climate variations. The agency also highlighted how the calendar supports families, local commerce and tourism by providing predictable holidays and breaks.
Argentina’s Ministry of Education announced the 2026 winter vacation schedule, dividing the country’s provinces into three groups. The first group will pause classes from 6‑17 July, the second from 13‑24 July, and the third from 20‑31 July, covering provinces such as Córdoba, Buenos Aires, and Santa Fe among others. Institutions are advised to confirm any local adjustments with their schools.
