Mexico and Nicaragua advance tourism through new campaigns and sustainability initiatives

Mexico's Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur) has launched a new global promotional campaign titled “Siempre hay un motivo para volver” (There is always a reason to return). Presented by Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the initiative aims to reconnect domestic and international travelers with the country's biocultural heritage and hospitality. The campaign is structured around seven experiential pillars: community connection, historical inspiration, gastronomy, biodiversity, adventure and magic towns, cultural celebrations, and natural landscapes.

In a related development regarding regional tourism trends, the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (Intur) participated in the 10th Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit held in Mexico City. Represented by co-director Mara Stotti, Nicaragua focused on exploring sustainable, inclusive, and innovative tourism models. The summit emphasized community-led tourism, the preservation of cultural identity, and the integration of digital transformation and technology to meet evolving traveler demands.
