Mexico announces 500 million peso lottery for El Buen Fin 2026
The Mexican government has formalized fiscal incentives for the El Buen Fin 2026 event, which is scheduled to take place from November 13 to November 17. A central component of this edition is a lottery with a total prize pool of up to 500 million pesos.
To participate in the lottery, individual consumers must use credit or debit cards for purchases at officially registered businesses during the designated five-day period. The Tax Administration Service (SAT) will define the specific rules, individual prize amounts, and the number of winners.
In addition to consumer prizes, the decree includes incentives for businesses. Companies that receive card payments and meet certain criteria, such as having accumulated income of up to 5 million pesos in the previous fiscal year and registering on the official portal, may also be eligible for prizes.
Regarding senior citizens, the National Institute for Older Adults (INAPAM) notes that while there is no exclusive INAPAM discount for El Buen Fin, seniors may be able to combine their existing INAPAM benefits with seasonal store promotions, depending on individual establishment policies.
