Mexico El Buen Fin 2026 shopping campaign

Overview

The 2026 El Buen Fin shopping event in Mexico is confirmed to run for five days, from November 13 to November 17. Coordinated by the Secretaría de Economía, the event aims to stimulate domestic consumption during the Mexican Revolution long weekend. Concanaco Servytur estimates the 16th edition will generate an economic impact of 235,000 million pesos, a 7.3% increase over the previous year. Projections suggest physical stores will account for 79% of sales, while online commerce is expected to represent 21%.

As the event approaches, regional preparations are intensifying. In Baja California Sur, officials expect an economic impact exceeding 840 million pesos, with projected sales growth between 5 and 8 percent. In Veracruz and Boca del Río, authorities are deploying a security operation involving approximately 600 Naval Police officers, alongside Public Security, Municipal Police, and the National Guard. In Ciudad Valles, Canaco Servytur is encouraging local merchants to register, specifically to boost sectors such as home goods and appliances.

Consumer protection measures are also being prioritized. In San Luis Potosí, the legislature has called for the dissemination of official information to prevent fraud. To assist with verification, Profeco has recommended that consumers use the Buró Comercial platform to check the commercial history and complaint records of providers. Financial institutions are introducing incentives, such as Banamex offering bonuses of up to 30 percent and BBVA México providing payment deferrals or bonuses of up to 15 percent. Additionally, the Ministry of Economy and the CFE are promoting the event via electricity bills, while the SAT is managing a raffle to encourage fiscal formality.
