Mexico arrests tied to Ciudad Juárez murders and Oaxaca drug trafficking
A district court in Ciudad Juárez linked Gerardo L. G., known as “El Tokio”, to the qualified homicide and concealment of three men killed on Jan. 14‑15, 2024. The prosecutor presented evidence of his participation, and a judge ordered justified preventive detention and set a three‑month deadline for the complementary investigation.
In Santiago Suchilquitongo, Etla, three men identified as I.P.J.C. (“El Gitano”), J.M.P.E. (“El Choki”) and J.C.A.F. (“El Chapín”) were detained and subsequently linked to process for drug‑related offenses after police seized zip‑lock bags of metamphetamine, a scale and cash. A judge also imposed justified preventive detention and a one‑month deadline for the investigation's closure.
