Mexico authorities seize $385,000 from two women on Sonora highway
Federal officials in Mexico detained two women aboard a passenger bus traveling on Highway 15 near Santa Ana‑Hermosillo, Sonora, after discovering more than $385,000 in cash that could not be legally accounted for. The investigation, led by the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) through its Specialized Regional Control Office (FECOR), follows an anonymous tip and involved the Policía Federal Ministerial and the Agencia de Investigación Criminal.
The women have been placed under the jurisdiction of FECOR in Sonora while prosecutors prepare legal proceedings for alleged involvement in illegal cash‑handling operations.
