Mexico begins preparations for Lima 2027 Para Pan American Games
Mexican adaptive sports authorities have initiated strategic planning for the VIII Para Pan American Games in Lima 2027. Miguel Ángel García Meza, president of the Mexican Paralympic Committee (COPAME), and Lenia Ruvalcaba Álvarez, technical analyst coordinator for CONADE, are leading the efforts to build a competitive national delegation.
The preparation cycle is designed to bridge the gap between the Lima games and the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. Officials emphasized the importance of rigorous selection processes and physical conditioning to prevent injuries among aspiring para-athletes.
Logistical coordination is also underway, involving cooperation with various federations to manage uniforms, accommodations, flights, and the specialized transport of athletic equipment. The goal is to surpass Mexico's previous performance in Santiago 2023, where the nation secured 125 medals.
