Mexico begins second stage of National Military Service in multiple regions

Various regions across Mexico have commenced the second stage of the 2026 National Military Service (Servicio Militar Nacional). In Veracruz, the Navy (Semar) welcomed 45 sailors to begin training at the Las Bajadas polygon, focusing on naval doctrine and civic values.

In Minatitlán, Veracruz, 300 young people began training at the 45th Infantry Battalion, an event attended by local authorities to promote discipline and service to the country. Additionally, in Cuautla, Morelos, 401 participants, including five female volunteers, started their instruction at the 5th Mechanized Regiment.

In San Luis Potosí, 323 conscripts and five female volunteers began a three-month training period at the 40th Infantry Battalion, aimed at fostering social responsibility and civic values.
