Mexico City and Cancún launch school aid programs for hundreds of thousands of students

In the state of Quintana Roo, the Cancún municipal education department confirmed it will continue its scholarship program for the 2026‑2027 school year, targeting 3,500 students across various levels. Scholarships will average between 4,700 and 4,900 pesos per student, with the final rules expected to be published later in the year. Officials highlighted coordination with the national scholarship system to close registration gaps that left some students without aid in the previous cycle.
