Mexico City and Edomex vehicle restrictions for late September
The Hoy No Circula environmental program continues to regulate vehicle circulation in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, vehicles with pink stickers and license plate endings 7 and 8 are prohibited from driving between 05:00 and 22:00.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the restrictions shift to vehicles with red stickers and license plate endings 3 and 4, specifically those with verification holograms 1 and 2. These measures apply across the 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 municipalities in the State of Mexico within the Valley of Mexico Metropolitan Area.
Exempt from these restrictions are vehicles with 00 or 0 holograms, electric and hybrid vehicles, emergency vehicles, and certain specialized machinery. Violators of the program face fines ranging from 20 to 30 times the Unidad de Medida y Actualización (UMA), totaling between $2,346.80 and $3,519.30 pesos.
