Mexico City and Edomex vehicle restrictions for October 8
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Hoy No Circula program will restrict vehicle circulation in the 16 boroughs of Mexico City and various municipalities in the State of Mexico. The restrictions apply to vehicles with green stickers and license plate endings 1 and 2, specifically those carrying verification holograms 1 and 2.
Exempt vehicles include those with 00 or 0 holograms, electric and hybrid vehicles, motorcycles, agricultural tractors, and construction machinery. Other exemptions apply to vehicles weighing 400 kilograms or less and certain classic cars. The restrictions are active from 5:00 to 22:00 hours.
Violating these restrictions can result in fines ranging from 20 to 30 times the Unit of Measure and Update (UMA), which translates to approximately $2,346.80 to $3,519.30 pesos. While authorities have indicated potential future changes to the program, no official modifications have been implemented yet.
