Mexico City and Estado de México vehicle restrictions for August 22

The Hoy No Circula environmental program, which aims to reduce atmospheric pollution, has established vehicle circulation restrictions for Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Mexico City and various municipalities in the State of Mexico.

Under the standard Saturday schedule, vehicles with Hologram 1 and odd-numbered license plates, as well as all vehicles with Hologram 2 and foreign plates, are restricted from circulating between 05:00 and 22:00 hours. This applies across the 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 municipalities in the State of Mexico, including Ecatepec de Morelos, Naucalpan de Juárez, and Nezahualcóyotl.

Exemptions from these restrictions include vehicles with Hologram 00 or 0, electric or hybrid vehicles, motorcycles, public transportation, emergency services, funeral vehicles, and vehicles used by persons with disabilities with proper authorization.
