Mexico City and State of Mexico extend Hoy No Circula restrictions for July 23‑24, 2026

On Thursday 23 July 2026 the Hoy No Circula program will restrict vehicles in Mexico City’s 16 boroughs and 18 adjacent municipalities of the State of Mexico that display a green verification sticker, have license plates ending in 1 or 2 and carry hologram 1 or 2. The restriction runs from 05:00 to 22:00. Vehicles exempted include those with hologram 00 or 0, electric and hybrid cars, school transport, hazardous‑waste carriers and public‑safety services.

On Friday 24 July 2026 the program shifts to a blue verification sticker, plates ending in 9 or 0 and the same hologram categories, plus cars with provisional permits. The same geographic area applies, and vehicles registered in the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala are subject to the rule provided they have current verification. Violations carry a fine of 20‑30 times the Unidad de Medida y Actualización (approximately $2,350‑$3,520). Authorities note no further changes to the programme beyond its recent extension to additional municipalities.
