Mexico City judges order trial of Cartel de Tláhuac operatives
Two alleged members of a cell linked to the Cartel de Tláhuac, identified as Eduardo N and Iván N, were captured on 16 July 2026 in the Agrícola Metropolitana neighborhood of Tláhuac, Mexico City. Prosecutors charged them with narcomenudeo, bribery of police officers, and possession of military‑grade ammunition. During the operation police recovered twelve cartridges reserved for the armed forces, narcotics and three mobile phones, and the suspects attempted to bribe officers with a vehicle and 40,000 pesos (≈ US$2,300).
