Mexico City faces protests and traffic restrictions

Mexico City faces significant logistical challenges due to multiple scheduled protests and environmental regulations. On September 3, several groups are expected to hold demonstrations across the capital.

The Unión Nacional de Maquineros, A. C. plans to march from the Ángel de la Independencia toward the Senate, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Chamber of Deputies to demand better regulation and the return of seized equipment. Additionally, the Alianza para la Defensa de la Pensión y el Patrimonio will protest at various government buildings, including Palacio Nacional and the Ministry of Energy, to demand legal certainty regarding pensions. The UNAM Workers' Union is also scheduled to hold a rally at the Chamber of Deputies to demand a 20% salary increase.

In terms of traffic management, the Hoy No Circula program remains in effect. On Thursday, September 3, vehicles with green stickers and license plate endings 1 and 2 are prohibited from circulating between 5:00 and 22:00 hours in Mexico City and 40 municipalities of the State of Mexico to reduce emissions.
